HC Deb 11 March 1943 vol 387 c879W
Major Owen

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food what quantities of dehydrated onions have been imported into this country during 1942 and up to the end of February, 1943; and what quantities have been made available to the distributive trades for the use of the public?

Mr. Mabane

Importations of dehydrated onions into the United Kingdom during 1942 and the first two months of 1943 were primarily intended to meet the needs of the Service Departments and other emergency requirements. There has been no allocation to the distributive trades for sale to the public. It would not be in the public interest to disclose the quantity imported.
