HC Deb 24 June 1943 vol 390 cc1323-4W
Lieut.-Commander Tufnell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the prolongation of the war and the need for avoiding too great a strain on Transatlantic hospitality, he will consider allowing an increase in the monetary allowances which can be transmitted by parents to children or relatives in Canada and the United States of America?

Sir K. Wood

This matter is kept constantly under review, but I am not in a position to make any statement at the present time.
