§ Mr. S. O. Daviesasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what steps are being contemplated by his Department to obviate the collapse, as happened after the last war, of the Welsh mining industry?
Major Lloyd GeorgeThe future position of the Welsh coalfield cannot be considered in isolation from that of the industry as a whole. In so far as it is dependent on exports, it must be considered as part of the Government's plans for the general revival of the export trade. I should add that the two sides of the industry are at present giving their attention to the future of the export trade and that they will discuss their findings with me in the near future.
