§ Mr. Hewlettasked the Minister of Pensions whether he can now make a state 1028W ment as to his intended reforms on pensions pay and allowances and administration?
§ Mr. PalingMy right hon. Friend's examination of these matters is not complete, but I can, however, assure the hon. Member that he will make a statement at the earliest possible date.
§ Mr. Hewlettasked the Minister of Pensions whether he can give an assurance that the minimum adequate financial assistance, even on a provisional basis, is at once accorded to wounded men not sufficiently ill to be treated in a hospital but unable to carry on without help?
§ Mr. PalingIf, as I assume, the hon. Member is referring to the wounded man who after discharge from the Forces requires treatment but not in hospital, and is thereby unable to follow any remunerative employment, I can readily give the assurance that suitable financial assistance in accordance with the provisions of the Royal Warrant is forthcoming at the earliest possible moment. If the hon. Member has any particular case in mind I shall be pleased to look into it.
