HC Deb 09 June 1943 vol 390 c726W
Sir W. Edge

asked the Home Secretary whether he will investigate the protest by the Ibstock miners who complain that working seven days a week in addition to first-aid duties they are now placed under a new arrangement which compels them to go on duty and sleep at Coalville on certain nights each week for such first-aid duties; whether he is aware that these Leicestershire miners are always among those who reach a maximum of output; and whether, to ensure that this new arrangement does not interfere with their physical well-being, he will obviate this enforced duty by making other and better arrangements?

Mr. H. Morrison

I am having inquiries made and will communicate with my hon. Friend as soon as they are completed.
