asked the Chanceller of the Exchequer whether British pensioners of the Shanghai Water Works Company, Limited, a public utility company, can be given the same privileges as regards advances from the Exchequer as have been accorded to British pensioners of the Shanghai Municipal Council?

No, Sir. The arrangements in question only apply to municipal bodies and I fear that I cannot extend them to public utility companies.
