§ Mr. HicksThere are no agreements governing basic output in the various crafts and operations of the building trade. Under the Essential Work (Building and Civil Engineering) Order, 1942, however, a system of payment by results is to be introduced where practicable and desirable in every undertaking and on every site scheduled under the Order. For this purpose schedules of bonus payments based on output have been drawn up by the Ministry of Works after consultation with the industries, and I am arranging for copies of these schedules to be placed in the Library.
