§ Mr. Thorneasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he can give any information in connection with the report of the British Coal Utilisation Research Association about a new domestic fire-grate which radiates 45 per cent. of the heat contained in coal or coke; and when this grate will be put upon the market for sale?

SmithMy right hon. and gallant Friend is following with interest the investigations being carried out by the British Coal Utilisation Research Association and other organisations with the object of developing more efficient domestic fire grates. This particular fire grate is still in the development stage and I am unable to state when it will be put on the market. The grate is being examined by the technical and scientific experts who advise the Government in these matters.
