Mr. Rostron Duckworthasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been called to the action of the Manchester City Council in initiating an inquiry into the effect of the Fish Zoning Scheme on Manchester; and whether he will assist the local authority in this investigation and encourage other towns to take similar action?
§ Mr. MabaneYes, Sir, my attention has been called to the inquiry referred to by my hon. Friend. I have agreed that the Area Fish Distribution Officer stationed in Manchester shall attend meetings of the committee and give whatever assistance he is able. I see no reason to encourage other local authorities to take similar action.
