§ Miss WilkinsonPrimary responsibility rests with the local authority, subject to the exercise of a measure of control by Regional Commissioners, more particularly after the work of first urgency following a raid has been completed. All authorities have been reminded of the importance of preserving buildings of archaeological interest, and they have been requested to seek the advice of experienced architects who are members of a panel appointed by my noble Friend the Minister of Works and Planning.
