Mr. Astorasked the Minister of Labour whether there exists any obstacle to persons leaving Borstal institutions with good reports from being accepted into the Fighting Services or into the Women's Royal Naval Service, Auxiliary Territorial Service, or Women's Auxiliary Air Force Service on their merits?
§ Mr. BevinPersons under detention in Borstal institutions are entitled in the same way as anyone else to express a preference for a particular Service; but it is for the Service authorities to decide whether or not any individual man or woman can be accepted.
