§ Colonel StanleyMy hon. Friend will realise that under conditions of active warfare there has been little opportunity as yet to prepare detailed plans for the rebuilding of Malta after the war. I can assure him that the question of preserving the historic monuments and buildings of the island will receive the most careful consideration. But I am not in a position at this stage to make any further statement.
