HC Deb 17 February 1943 vol 386 c1744W
Mr. Parker

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider a reform of company law to make it compulsory for all annual reports to state the ages of directors, whether they are full time, and, if not, what are their special qualifications; to make it necessary for directors to resign for any period in which they may be in whole-time Government employment; and to surrender their posts if they absent themselves from board meetings for more than six months save on company business or with permission of the shareholders?

Captain Waterhouse

I have had no previous suggestion of a change on these lines, but my hon. Friend's Question has been noted for consideration when an opportunity arises for reviewing the company law.
