HC Deb 16 February 1943 vol 386 cc1598-9W
Mr. Parker

asked the right hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether he is aware that windbelts in the Lake District and elsewhere are being removed for timber; and whether arrangements will be made to leave these where they are of definite agricultural advantage.

Mr. Peat

I have been asked to reply. If the hon. Member will let me have particulars of the cases he has in mind I will make inquiries. It is the practice to consult the local war agricultural executive committee where there is danger that felling may be detrimental to agricultural production.
