§ Sir A. Baillieasked the Minister of Agriculture whether the war agricultural executive committees ensure that farmers keep hedges trimmed and the ditches clear to improve cultivation and reduce flooding?
Mr. HudsonExecutive committees take the necessary steps to ensure that hedging and ditching are carried out so far as is necessary in the interests of food production and having regard to labour limitations. They have power to issue directions under Defence Regulations for the carrying out of the work.
