HC Deb 04 February 1943 vol 386 cc1072-3W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many tractor outfits have been applied for by the local agricultural executive committees in the Outer Hebrides; how many sent through the Department of Agriculture for Scotland; and whether more outfits can be made available if applied for?

Mr. Johnston

The Department of Agriculture for Scotland have already supplied four tractor outfits for operation by agricultural executive committees in the Outer Hebrides, and at the request of the committee for Lewis and Harris arrangements are being made to place an additional outfit in South Harris. So far as I am aware, there is no other present demand from agricultural executive committees in the Long Island.
