HC Deb 04 February 1943 vol 386 cc1075-6W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that students of London and Cambridge universities serving as members of the Cambridge University Senior Training Corps are subject to expenses for camps for which no allowance is made, whereas members of the Air Squadron following similar special courses are paid 7s. a day; and whether he will take steps to remedy this position?

Sir J. Grigg

For their prescribed 21 days' annual continuous training, the Senior Training Corps get 4s. a day plus accommodation, whereas the Air Squadrons get 7s. a day, including provision for accommodation. My hon. Friend is no doubt referring to additional voluntary training, for which no such payment is authorised or seems necessary.
