HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 cc907-8W
Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he has any statement to make on the proposed concentration of cheese factories in Lancashire; and whether similar action is proposed in other parts of the country?

Mr. Mabane

Under the manufacturing programme for 1943, which has now been settled, two factories in Lancashire will be kept open for the manufacture of cheese. Cheese factories are also being closed in other parts as the cheese making capacity of the country is in excess of the requirements of the present programme.
