§ Mr. Mortasked the Secretary of State for War whether, to allay the anxiety of relatives and in view of a broadcast made from Java by Group-Captain Bishop, in which he stated that the prisoners of war in the hands of the Japanese were all well, he can make a statement giving the latest information on the matter?
§ Sir J. GriggSome lists of prisoners of war in camps in Java are now being received. So far the names represent only a small proportion of those last heard of in the Dutch East Indies, and are mostly of Royal Air Force personnel. The next-of-kin are being informed.
