HC Deb 16 December 1943 vol 395 c1706W
Mr. Rostron Duckworth

asked the Home Secretary whether the inmates of prisons are still engaged in war work; and whether their activities in that direction will be recognised at Christmas time?

Mr. H. Morrison

I am pleased to say that practically the whole of the prison population are now taking their share in making a really valuable contribution to the war effort by the production of a wide range of articles for the Service and other Government Departments. In my view, therefore, it would be invidious to select any particular class of war work for special recognition.
