HC Deb 14 December 1943 vol 395 cc1420-1W
Mr. E. Walkden

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many military tailors have been prosecuted for selling to Army officers as bespoke garments Priority A uniforms made by wholesalers and not in accordance with B.O.T. Order 2556; and whether he will now amend the Order so as to ensure that no illegitimate profits are sought or obtained by Army tailors who now generally sell mass production made uniforms as bespoke garments?

Mr. Dalton

No infringements of this Order have been reported to me by local price regulation committees or by my inspectors and I see no reason, therefore, to amend the Order.
