§ Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that no pathological services are available during the week-end at University College Hospital, but in cases where the patient does not respond to sulphothiazole a blood count is necessary; why this was not taken in the case of Private Sheridan; and whether he will have the case fully investigated?
§ Miss HorsbrughMy right hon. and learned Friend is informed that although the laboratory at the hospital is closed for routine work during the week-end, facilities for emergency pathological work are available and that in the case to which my hon. Friend refers a blood count was, in fact, taken. Medical officers of the788W Department, after examining the detailed hospital notes, advise that the patient's condition appears to have been hopeless from the time of admission, and that all possible treatment and attention were given by the hospital staff.
