HC Deb 07 December 1943 vol 395 c785W
Mr. Parker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the ban imposed on civil servants in giving assistance to Sir William Beveridge on his full employment inquiry will also be made to apply to giving advice or assistance to the Federation of British Industries and trade research organisations such as that proposed on the possible development of the plastics industry?

Sir J. Anderson

I do not know precisely what kind of inquiry the hon. Member has in mind. The ruling to which he refers has no bearing on cases where civil servants take part in discussions or negotiations with outside bodies as part of their official duties.
