§ Mr. H. MorrisonWhile inquiries indicate that in some areas there may have been an increase in drinking among young people, the information before me does not provide substantial evidence of excessive drinking, or that extensive social evil is being caused. Both the police and the licensees are doing all they can according to my information to secure compliance with the Act of 1923 which prohibits the sale and supply of intoxicating liquor in bars to persons under 18; and arrangements have been made for the prominent exhibition in all licensed premises of a notice setting out in simple form the provisions of this Act.
