§ Sir L. Lyleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the restriction of debate on finance in the House, he will consider simple ways and means of bringing home to the public the great and growing increase in national expenditure?
§ Sir J. AndersonMy hon. Friend is under a misapprehension in thinking that there is any restriction of debate on our national expenditure. Nor have the Government any intention of proposing any such restriction. Many opportunities of debate arise in each Session in the ordinary course of our financial business.
