§ Mr. Naylorasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will take steps to give members of the W.L.A. the same reduction in railway fares as are given to members of the Forces?
381W
§ Mr. Noel-BakerMembers of the Women's Land Army are employed by the farmers for whom they work, and the conditions of their service cannot, therefore, be compared with the conditions of service of members of the Women's Forces. For that reason, I regret that it would not be justifiable to extend to them the reductions in railway fares allowed to members of the Forces.
