§ Sir T. Mooreasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what restrictions are imposed on the diplomatic, military and consular representatives of foreign nations in this country in respect of the use of petrol?
§ Mr. LawThe petrol allotted to heads of diplomatic Missions and their staffs, including the Naval, Military and Air Attachés, is restricted to quantities that are considered to be sufficient to enable them to perform their official duties. The question is constantly under review, and I am glad to be able to inform my hon. and gallant Friend that considerable economies in petrol thus allocated have been effected during the past few months. 2483W The petrol allowances of foreign consular officers are assessed by Regional Petroleum Officers on the basis of what they reasonably need for their consular duties.
