§ Sir J. AndersonIn accordance with the provisions of the Public Record Office Acts, 1838 to 1898, it was necessary for the Additional Rule to which my hon. Friend refers to be laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of nine weeks prior to its submission for approval by His Majesty in Council. The Additional Rule was made on 30th November, 1942, the assent of the Treasury and the Tithe Redemption Commission was then formally signified and it was laid before Parliament on 15th December. The statutory period of nine weeks expired on 17th February last, and the Additional Rule was submitted for approval at the first Council held by His Majesty after that date.
