MorrisonI have already considered the advisability of introducing a system of long service badges for the local authority Civil Defence Services and have concluded that there is insufficient justification for it at this time. The same applies to the National Fire Service for which no system of long service badges has been approved. I am aware that some members of the National Fire Service, continuing a local pre-nationalisation practice, wear long service stripes which have been authorised locally, but I am not in favour of any extension of this practice.
