HC Deb 20 April 1943 vol 388 c1551W
Mr. Touche

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he has considered the protest made by the Dorking and Horley Food Committee against the proposed merger of the Dorking urban and Dorking and Horley rural food offices; and whether he has any statement to make thereon?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir, the protest has been carefully considered but no grounds have been disclosed which would warrant a departure from the policy of amalgamating local food offices where two exist in one town. This policy has achieved material saving of man-power as well as economy in other directions.
