HC Deb 15 April 1943 vol 388 cc1402-3W
Mr. Ness Edwards

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the clause, printed in the new supplementary pension books, indicating that the first 16s. of earnings are to be ignored in the calculation of supplementary pensions; and whether he has any statement to make thereon?

Mr. E. Brown

The Assistance Board inform me that no statement such as my hon. Friend describes appears generally in their order books. They can only assume that he has seen a book issued in some particular case where the pensioner is in part-time employment and his income from earnings was taken into account when his supplementary pension was assessed.
