§ Mr. BrackenThe functions of the Board are to help the Ministry of Information with advice about the organisation and work of the Crown Film Unit. It meets under the chairmanship of a senior Ministry official and includes representatives of the Crown Film Unit and members of the Ministry. Mr. Rank was invited to join the Board because of his great experience in matters appertaining to the production of films, which we regard as one of the most important tasks entrusted to the Ministry. I have a lively appreciation of the fact that in film matters all wisdom is not a monopoly of the Ministry of Information.
