asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the proposed restriction of sugar for popular consumption, he can make a detailed statement as to the trades which will be thereby affected?

The allocations of sugar to the following trades have been reduced or are under review:—Chocolate and sugar confectionery, cake and biscuits, cake, pudding and sponge mixtures, breakfast cereals and prepared breakfast foods, custard and blancmange powders, meat and bacon curing, meat and fish pastes, soft drinks.
