HC Deb 30 September 1942 vol 383 c789W
Mr. Lipson

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the proposal to give Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes a monopoly of the distribution of sports goods to the Services will drive out of business many sports retail traders who have already been hard hit by war conditions; and will he have further consultations with representatives of sports traders with a view to devising an alternative scheme which will secure the object he has in mind and which the traders feel able to accept?

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on this subject by my hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the War Office on 9th September, a copy of which I am sending to him.
