HC Deb 30 September 1942 vol 383 cc799-800W
Brigadier-General Clifton Brown

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether agreement has yet been reached between producers and distributors on quality premiums and other matters in the new milk scheme; and whether he will postpone the new contracts until agreement has been reached?

Mr. Mabane

Agreement has been reached between the Ministry, Milk Marketing Board and distributors regarding the contract for premiums for special quality milk or special services. Premiums to be paid in' particular cases is a matter for negotiation between individual producer and individual distributor in relation to the quality of milk or service rendered except that the minimum premium for tuberculin tested milk is fixed at 2d. per gallon. As the other conditions "relating to the purchase and sale of milk on and after 1st October have been agreed between the Ministry, the Milk Marketing Board and distributors, the latter part of the Question does not therefore arise.
