HC Deb 11 September 1942 vol 383 cc540-1W
Mr. Stephen

asked the Minister of Labour the name, age, and years of service of the senior woman labour officer at the Bridgeton Employment Exchange, Glasgow, and the names of members of the hardship committees and the bodies by whom they were respectively nominated for such committees?

Mr. McCorquodale

I am obtaining the information and will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as possible.

Mr. Stephen

asked the Minister of Labour whether there is a woman representative in attendance as a member of each hardship committee who hears the cases of women who are called up under the National Service Acts; the number of appeals to such committees of young women registered at the Bridgeton and Parkhead Employment Exchanges, Glasgow, since the passing of the Act until the latest available date; and the number of appeals which were successful?

Mr. McCorquodale

With regard to the first part of the Question, women representatives normally attend these hearings. As regards the rest of the Question, I am making inquiries and will write to the hon. Member.
