§ Wing-Commander Grant-Ferrisasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of local conditions, he is satisfied that the maximum of welfare work is provided for the troops and sailors in Iceland and in Icelandic waters?
§ Sir J. GriggI am satisfied that everything possible has been done for the welfare and entertainment of the troops in Iceland and that so far as possible the dreariness and isolation of some of the sites there has been relieved. I am advised that the naval authorities in Iceland consider that their men there are generally satisfied with their conditions, and that while the isolation of many of the smaller units presents a great obstacle to welfare arrangements much has already been done and more will be done.
