HC Deb 11 September 1942 vol 383 c551W
Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps are taken to make thermos flasks available to farm workers and others whose work necessitates their being away from home and from canteens at the midday meal hour?

Mr. Johnston

Arrangements have been made that local branches throughout Scotland of the National Farmers' Union and the Farm Servants' Union may obtain thermos flasks direct from the makers for resale to their members, on orders supported by the Department of Agriculture for Scotland and at an arranged price. The number of such orders placed to date will result in the delivery of about 10,000 flasks to farm workers.
