§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the President of the Board of Education why he is proposing to make a selection of books on Russian history and on Communist propaganda for dissemination in British State-aided schools; by what body this selection will be determined and from what source the expense incurred will be defrayed; and what are the extent and duration of the distribution proposed?
§ Mr. ButlerI have no such proposal in mind as my hon. Friend suggests. My Department recently issued to local312W education authorities and schools a memorandum containing a bibliography of works on the U.S.S.R., which will be of assistance to teachers who wish to introduce a study of Soviet Russia into the curricula of their schools. I am sending a copy of the memorandum to my hon. Friend.
