HC Deb 09 September 1942 vol 383 c177W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that 50,800 retired teachers from State-aided schools receiving pensions derived from their own contributions and from State funds, in respect of teaching service in England and Wales under the Teachers' Superannuation Acts, find; the value of these pensions now practically halved by the rise in the cost of living; and whether some scheme of war bonuses can be devised to meet this need?

Mr. Butler

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to the hon. Member for the English Universities (Mr. Harvey) on nth June, a copy of which I am sending to him.
