HC Deb 08 September 1942 vol 383 cc52-3W
Sir I. Albery

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will take steps to reserve for infants suitable patent foods against the production of the child's ration book, and prevent such foods, of which there is a shortage, being used by adult persons?

Mr. Mabane

The principal manufacturers of infant foods have requested retailers, who are mainly chemists, to give priority of supply in all cases to the needs of infants. So far as I am aware there is no difficulty in buying such foods when they are required for infants. If, however, my hon. Friend has any information on this point, I should be glad to receive particulars.
