§ Wing-Commander Hulbertasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will issue instructions that Women's Auxiliary Air Force officers employed on balloon duties be permitted to wear battle-dress as a measure of economy in uniform and general suitability for the work involved?
2148W
§ Sir A. SinclairW.A.A.F. officers are not actually employed on handling balloons and therefore the necessity for them to wear battle-dress is not so strong as for airwomen who are engaged on this duty. I am, however, examining the question whether officers should also wear the battle-dress having regard to possible future re-allocation of balloon duties to officers.
