HC Deb 22 October 1942 vol 383 cc2136-7W
Sir G. Jeffreys

asked the Minister of Labour how many men called up for the Services were rejected on the ground that they suffered from tuberculosis; and what percentage of other men medically examined does this total represent?

Mr. Bevin

The only information I can give is that, according to sample statistics taken earlier this year, about one per cent. of recruits examined under the National Service Acts are rejected on account of pulmonary tuberculosis.
