HC Deb 22 October 1942 vol 383 c2115W
Mr. Rostron Duckworth

asked the Minister of Labour whether, before working hours in factories are staggered, care is taken to ensure that the most important factories have priority of choice?

Mr. Bevin

I assume that the Question refers to the staggering of hours in the interests of transport. There is provision for adequate consultation of all the parties, including the factory managements and Supply Departments concerned, through the local transport consultative committees set up by the Regional Transport Commissioner, and so far all arrangements for staggering of factory hours have, I understand, been made by agreement.
