HC Deb 22 October 1942 vol 383 c2130W
Mr. Silkin

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that men engaged on light anti-aircraft defence work on gun sites are frequently on continuous duty for periods of 16 days at a time without being given a 24 hours' rest period; and whether he will see to it that rest periods are given more frequently?

Mr. A. Henderson

Personnel in antiaircraft units are allowed a period of 24 hours' rest in every seven days. Operational needs may occasionally prevent this rest period being allowed. If my hon. Friend will let me have particulars of any cases which have been brought to his notice I will gladly look into them.
