HC Deb 22 October 1942 vol 383 c2119W
Sir C. Edwards

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that Stanley W. Richards, of Blackwood, Monmouthshire, who worked at a certain factory, was certified by a surgeon to be suffering from T.N.T. poisoning and dated the certificate back some three months; that compensation was then claimed and was refused; that this dispute went on for three months, when he was sent to a medical referee at Cardiff who decided against him and his certificate was accepted as covering the whole of that time and compensation refused; and whether, seeing that the man was sent to the referee so long after he had been certified, he will consider paying compensation for the time claimed?

Mr. Peat

I find that Mr. Richards was an Admiralty employee. I am therefore asking my right hon. Friend the First Lord to have inquiries made and communicate direct-with the hon. Member.
