asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport when he expects that the Uxbridge by-pass road will be open for public use; and why has its completion been so long delayed in view of the fact that other work for a further extension has been set in hand?

It is expected that the road well be opened before the end of the year. The delay has been due to shortage of suitable labour required for the construction of the concrete viaduct.
