asked the Minister of Information whether he has asked local committees for a comprehensive report on the public interest in post-war reconstruction and an indication of the direction and strength of public opinion on post-war problems?

My right hon. Friend the Paymaster-General has asked the Ministry of Information to provide an indication of the direction and strength of public interest in reconstruction problems, with the study of which he is charged. Help has been given in this inquiry by a certain number of local information committees, but they have not been asked for any comprehensive report.
