HC Deb 20 October 1942 vol 383 cc1857-8W
Major Milner

asked the Minister of Pensions what steps he has taken to obtain medical men for the purpose of staffing pension appeals tribunals?

Sir W. Womersley

My medical officers, though in constant touch with all likely sources of supply, are unable to obtain the numbers necessary for the pension and treatment work of my Department, still less to obtain the additional numbers which I should require for work within my Department in connection with the hearing of appeals. From this it follows that medical members of tribunals are not at present available.
