§ Mr. E. BrownTyphoid and paratyphoid fever became separately notifiable only towards the end of last year. The number of cases notified in England and Wales in the past five years has been:—1937, 2,150; 1938, 1,321; 1939, 1479; 1940, 2,848; 1941, 4,762. In 1941 there was an exceptional outbreak in the Liverpool district.
